Feb. 7,
Decisions can be make, then ignored, or followed.
I want to become the person who dancers my age will see and say, "Wow! Could I dance like that? Should I try to dance like that?"
It's not the knowledge-don't give me that about 'old knowledge vs. new knowledge.' Knowledge and experience and ability combine to give you a level of EXPERTISE. I want that level of expertise, and am willing to pay into it with sweat and effort.
What's the reward? (since compensation of any type is important) I will be a good example of an elderly person who loves to dance.
What's the plan?
Moderation, hydration, limitation, motivation...every day ask the queston: "Am I improving or declining?"
The plan has to acknowledge general shortcomings of elderly people and personal shortcomings and try to overcome them.
1-shoulders get tired=do the weight program for arms
2-balance isn't always perfect especially when the partner isn't extremely skilled=do weights on one foot at a time
3-strength on one direction can be inhibited by lack of flexibility in opposing muscles=stretching
4-old lady feet=more work with the 'shoe' and deliberate use of foot pressure
5-old lady body=daily planks
6-sagging face=face exercises
7-aging appearance=improve nutrition or at least maintain present program
Thursday,
report on Wed:
-could've, should've, would've danced harder in Pdr and tap IF I had planned the music in advance, so I hope I remember to take the time to do that next Wednesday.
-spent the whole day 9-3 working on the studio except for the few minutes to eat w Michelle and a half hour on the pro-am meeting.
-starting at 9:30 this mormning; planning to do the plank; the arms; do some straightening up to get ready for tonight.
-the competition is barely a month away.
Wednesday, Feb. 14,
finally finished the huge project of getting the storage organized. Still have some loose ends to take care of, but now the main focus will actually change to getting SGF ready for dancing.
Dancing is important. It's physical, emotional, intellectual, creative, satisfying. It's a vehicle for showcasing my project: showing elderly people as competent, confident in their competence. A little effort everyday should do it. A chart to keep track will help.
thursday, Feb. 15,
need to make that chart.
Wednesday, Feb, 21
didn't make the chart, but....have really stepped up the cardio and lite weights; need to do more stretching.
Should make a 'readiness chart ' for the pro am gentlemen
having trouble finding a date for the hustle party
Doing well avoiding carbs
Need to offer beginners' courses for new dances
Need to set up a pair of dancers for Sunday, Feb. 25
Need to prepare a step list for club dances
Set up a guest appearance for donna
Might make it to gym by 11am--just having trouble getting going and maintaining motivation
Need to make a new brochure and maybe call all the Thurs. people to confirm members of class for new series starting tomorrow
Starting to see that there is too much for me to do alone
Have to go to police station and make some moves on that police report and get the garden redone.
fire dept still didn't call-called them again-coming next Thursday, March 1
