Youth Track Ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire
Ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire, December 2018, Ava Bella
With the excitement toning down and the pressure completely gone, some dancers are taking a break. Some dancers are sticking with their program and coming in for lessons and trying to move towards the next goal: Competition on Jan. 20, NYC.
The ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire this week is Ava Bella. She must have had some kind of 'click switch' in her brain that has just turned on. She paid attention, tried her best (Yelena!), did her leg action, hip design, translation, head positions making her gold rumba look so correct and EXPRESSIVE. She finally captured the idea of how and why and when to 'wind up.' Congratulations, Ava Bella, with a beautiful name. You're doing some beautiful dancing.
Ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire, February 2019, Andreas Kadel
Andreas is a serious student of dancing. When he has his lessons, it is always apparent there was some extra thought or/and practice going on since the previous lesson. It is always a pleasure to teach a dancer who tries to understand and interpret and do what the teacher asks.
Andrea is always pleasant, always tuned in, always ready to try things and it shows very clearly that he loves this activity and that he is happy to continually improve.
Andreas racks up a lot of points when we do 'challenges' during group class. He is also promised as a dance host at the Sunday bonus class.
Thank you, Andreas, for your efforts, your improvements and your good attitude about doing things in dancing that are challenging for all of us. Also, thank you, Andreas, for being first to offer to help me with all the other stuff that goes with having a dance studio. It is very much appreciated.

Ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire, February 2019, Jaiden Watkins
The February Ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire is Jaiden Watkins. Jaiden recently won the Jr 1 Silver Latin Solo Stars at Mid Atlantic Championships. He also gave expert partnering to Natalia, Angelina, Ava Bella, Maya in both Latin and Ballroom. It is heartwarming to see him always trying to get better. We salute Jaiden and his efforts to be a good dancer and the partner in demand. Jaiden and his sister, Natalia, recently performed for a fundraiser at Aulettos. As you can imagine, they were a big hit! |
Ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire, March 2019, Angelina Tkachuk
We are so proud of our youth dancers! This month's Ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire is Angelina Tkachuk. How did she win this honor? Well, for one thing she has a PHENOMENAL attitude about learning. Even when she is not happy with herself she smiles has a chuckle and starts over. She has even asked, "How did I do?" Pretty unusual for a dancer her age. Angelina has some extra curricular activities that involve acting and singing. Maybe she is the one who will grow up to be a Triple Threat. Best wishes to our Angelina Bambina and to her family who are all getting to watch her grow and flourish. Ultimate Dancer Extraordinaire, April, 2019, Olga Kravchenko
Olga is the epitome of a well-rounded dancer. She is a beautiful dancer, she can change roles and be an excellent leader, and she has the self discipline to have undertaken the HUGE and DAUNTING project of taking ISTD teacher certification exams. It's always better when Olga is part of the scene. Ultimate DancerExtraordinaire, May, 2019, Natalia Iosue Everyone in youth program knows that when it comes to remembering what's next and what are the details of technique, Natalia is usually first to get it right. She gives attention to details, makes a point of using the correct heels and toes and she is EXCELLENT at concentrating and getting into whatever the dance task is. It's hard to distract Natalia when she decides to zero in on dancing. |
