WDSF Quickstep General Description of the Figures
This is what I would need to introduce these figures to medal level competitors if I didn't have, couldn't get, or didn't want to acquire the manuals. The manuals are terrific and everyone who is a serious ballroom teacher should have these in their dance studio library. But, if you need some help to begin to0 use the figures, this should be a good start.
Now that there is a circuit of competitions allowing the medal level curriculum of WDSF in addition to ISTD for bronze, silver and gold international ballroom and Latin, there should be interest in what is the same and what is different. Obviously, the new curriculum is more up to date, more flexible, more detailed, with more new figures and many borrowed figures. More difficult figures are moved up in level and easier figures are moved down.
'NTD" means nothing too different--figure is pretty much the same as in the other curriculum. I am NOT noting more or additional sways, more or additional information about rise & fall, footwork, nor foot positions. Dancers can use this guide to get started, enlightened and enthused about the WDSF curriculum.
The chart timing for each figure is listed first and the alternative timing is second.
